Washington County Facility Release Paths
The Washington County Correctional Facility is the county’s identified adult detention facility. It is operated by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office. Official county and sheriff material reviewed did not identify a separate adult municipal jail, state prison, federal prison, or ICE detention center within Washington County. That bounded result does not rule out brief police holding or detention for another agency.
A person may leave the Washington County jail after bond, dismissal, a court order, time served, completion of a county sentence, or another discharge that returns the person to the community. Another departure can be a transfer to ODOC, another county, BOP or USMS custody, or ICE. Escape and death can also remove a name from an ordinary current roster. Those events are plainly not community releases.

Official facility sources do not publish a release door, fixed exit hour, weekend schedule, or transport plan. State only the custody event that records support.
Confirm Washington County Facility Releases
The sheriff’s official inmate search is the first status check, but it covers in-custody people. Its own warning says a failed result may reflect updating and points to VINE if the person may have been released or transferred. Roster absence is therefore a lead rather than proof.
- Search the person’s name on the current sheriff roster. Record the time and check spelling or identifying details.
- Search Oklahoma VINE. A reported release or transfer is more useful than disappearance, but the two outcomes remain distinct.
- Call the jail at 918-332-4011 for current operational status. Ask whether Washington County custody continues and whether a receiving authority can be disclosed.
- Check the Washington County OSCN docket for bond, dismissal, release order, judgment, time served, revocation, or transport activity.

Two sources are stronger than one. VINE can report that custody changed; the jail register establishes the county’s recorded date and manner of discharge; and the court record explains the legal action. Timing gaps are common because an order may be signed before facility processing and a notification can arrive afterward.

Washington County Facility Release Records
A release record is not one universal document. For this facility, the jail register and custody-event history are the most direct durable county records. Oklahoma’s Attorney General summarizes 51 O.S. §24A.8 as covering, when kept, the prisoner’s name; date, cause, and authority of commitment; whether the commitment relates to a criminal offense; description; and date or manner of discharge or escape.
A focused request should identify the person by full name, another identity detail, booking or case number if known, and approximate custody dates. Ask for “the date and manner of discharge, release disposition or type, destination or receiving authority if recorded, booking sheet, and public custody-event history.” Ask for electronic copies and an estimate before processing.

Section 24A.8 does not require an agency to create a record it never maintained. Exemptions or redactions can apply. If a record is denied, ask for the legal ground and consider narrowing the request to the listed jail-register fields.
Washington County Jail, Not Prison
The Washington County Correctional Facility is a county jail. It can hold people before trial and people serving or awaiting action in local cases. ODOC is Oklahoma’s statewide corrections system and is not the operator of this facility. Its offender lookup should be used only when a person entered state incarceration or community supervision.

Washington County Release Property
The county says property taken at arrest and not allowed in inmate living areas is secured and stored. A person in custody may designate someone to receive all stored property except one set of street clothing. That supports keeping clothing available for a later departure, but the county does not publish a post-release pickup deadline or an unclaimed-property procedure.
Currency and coins are documented and deposited to commissary. The public policy does not explain how a remaining balance is returned at release. The jail is the correct operational contact for those questions. Do not assume a payout method, property window, exit location, waiting point, or transportation service from practices in another county.
Family or a designated recipient should confirm the scope before accepting stored property, because the county says the transaction covers all property except the retained street clothes. Questions about a later transfer should be directed to the sending jail and receiving agency.
Washington County Facility Bond Releases
The Washington County Court Clerk says bond may be posted at the clerk’s office from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. After hours, posting occurs at the Correctional Facility. The sheriff warns that bonds must be completed and notarized correctly and that a filed case requires its case number.
Bond release is pretrial. It does not mean dismissal, acquittal, time-served discharge, or sentence completion. A bond entry can precede the end of physical custody, and another hold can affect the next step. Pair the court or bond record with jail confirmation before giving a release time.
Washington County publishes no standard time between accepted bond and exit. It also publishes no weekend or holiday release timetable. Ask what custody event was recorded and when it occurred instead of estimating from the bond-posting time.

Washington County ICE Transfer Checks
A Washington County discharge to an ICE detainer is a transfer, not community release. ICE’s public locator covers current detainees and people released from ICE custody within the last 60 days. A person disappearing after that period does not prove community status, and absence from the county roster says only that local custody may have changed.
Use the ICE Online Detainee Locator with a nine-digit A-number and country of birth, or exact name, country of birth, and optional date of birth. Exact spelling matters. The tool does not cover people under 18. When no result appears, use the privacy-compliant ERO or detainee information route rather than guessing.
The county discharge record should identify the receiving authority if that fact was recorded. The ICE result then addresses the later immigration custody window. These records describe two sequential custodians and should never be collapsed into a single release event.
